Shoulder Press- Use your Glutes and Quads

I watched a guy do a military press in the gym recently that made me cringe. Unracked the weight on his tippy toes and as he pressed the weight his lower back turned into the curvature of a C. This is exactly how NOT to Press.
 
Tension is key with strength. Your ability to connect to the ground is the key to success on the military press. This is achieved by contracting your glutes, engaging your quads(think about pulling your knee caps up), and isometrically driving your feet into the ground.
