Meta AI Glasses Banned at Tucson Strength

Wearable Cameras banned

Tucson Strength Camera & Wearable Camera Policy

At Tucson Strength, people should be able to come in, train hard, and feel comfortable doing so without wondering whether they are being recorded.

For that reason, Tucson Strength has banned all wearable cameras inside the gym.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Meta AI glasses and other camera-equipped eyewear
  • Headphones or earbuds equipped with cameras
  • Body-worn cameras
  • Any other wearable device capable of recording video

We understand that wearable technology is becoming more common, but the privacy of our members takes priority.

Our General Camera Policy

To clarify, we are not banning members from recording their own training. We understand the value of recording a set to review technique, track progress, or share your training.

However, there are some very clear boundaries.

You may record yourself. You may not record other members.

Your camera should be positioned to record you and your training, not other people in the gym.

Most importantly, posting videos of another Tucson Strength member without their consent is strictly prohibited. If you intentionally post another member without their permission, your membership may be terminated.

Your camera does not give you control of the gym.

Tucson Strength is a shared training space. If someone walks in front of your camera while you are recording a set, that is a non-issue.

They are not responsible for staying out of your shot.

Do not confront, argue with, or become disrespectful toward another member because they walked through your video. If you create a confrontation with another member over interfering with your recording, your membership may be terminated.

Keep your recording setup simple.

Recording should never interfere with other members’ ability to use the gym.

We do not allow external lighting, elaborate camera setups, or equipment that creates unnecessary obstructions or distractions.

Set up your phone, record your set, and move on.

Influencers: the gym is not your private studio.

If you create social media content, you’re welcome to record your own training within these guidelines. But being an influencer or content creator does not give you special privileges inside Tucson Strength.

You do not own the gym. Other members are not extras in your content. And Tucson Strength is not your personal social media playground.

This is first and foremost a place for people to train.

If your filming becomes disruptive, intrusive, excessive, or interferes with another member’s experience, our staff will address it. Continued problems may result in termination of your membership.

Privacy Comes First

We want Tucson Strength to remain a place where serious training and a great community can coexist with modern technology.

Recording your own lifts is fine.

Turning the gym into a production studio is not.

Treating other members as though they need to accommodate your camera is not.

And recording or posting other members without their consent is not acceptable.

Wearable cameras are prohibited. Record yourself only. Keep your setup simple. Respect the people around you.

If everyone follows those basic rules, there shouldn’t be a problem.
