At Tucson Strength, we offer a unique combination of smaller group training. Our group exercise classes are not your run-of-the-mill aerobics classes with a bunch of random exercises strung together. Each class focuses on specific fitness training modalities and is led by an expert instructor specialized in each training style.
Whether you want to improve your overall strength and conditioning, or focus on skills like kettlebells or powerlifting, we have the specific class for you.
Attendees must complete two 1-on-1 sessions with one of our personal trainers to get a complete introduction to our exercises and ensure we can modify your specific movements appropriately.
Our kettlebell classes incorporate full body strength training in each class as well as cardiovascular conditioning as you develop your skills with the foundational kettlebell movements.
Each class is carefully programmed throughout the week to make sure you progress your fitness and skillset without overtraining. In our kettlebell program, you will learn the following movements:
Kettlebell Swing
Kettlebell Squat
Kettlebell Shoulder Presspress
Turkish Get Up
Advanced Kettlebell Movements
We will also incorporate other training forms such as bodyweight training, ropes, rowers, and sleds into the training mix.
Group Strength Training
Our group strength is individualized training on the gym floor with your own program and coach overseeing your lifting, dubbed our “Strength Club,” are for members who want to lift weights with the bar and utilize some machines to develop a well rounded strength program in a more group-oriented setting.
Each participant has a program to follow within the class, but the structure offers a more self paced training environment.
The strength coach checks in on each lifter during the training time to assist in form, spotting, or making program adjustments.
We require a commitment of 2 days per week on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.
Conditioning
Are you looking to build up your aerobic conditioning without spending mindless hours on the treadmill?
If so, check out our conditioning program at Tucson Strength. We offer a variety of exercises that elevate your heart rate and give you a unique, challenging, yet entertaining and fun cardio workout.
The kettlebells, rowers, Air Dyne bikes, sleds and ropes will be your “friends”.
Unlike our kettlebell and strength training programming, we won’t be focusing on strength training in this exercise program, but will focus pushing your cardio to new levels.
Barbell Club Powerlifting
Our Tucson Barbell Club classes focus on the big three powerlifting movements: the squat, bench, and deadlift. If you want to improve these foundational lifts, then the barbell club /team your program.
Each participant is on their own lifting program with the coach supervising and assisting the lifters throughout the duration of the coaching time.
Programs are well rounded and offer a variety of assistance exercises to build a full body training program.
Many of our participants compete in the sport of Powerlifting. While competing in powerlifting is not a requirement to be a part of Barbell Club, we do require the same dedication and consistency of lifting from all of our Barbell Club students.
Participants must have baseline mobility and strength before admission to this program. One of our coaches will assess you before entering the class to ensure you are physically ready.
Original Strength®
If your body consistently feels stiff and achy from your workouts or day-to-day life, then our Original Strength® program is the group fitness class for you.
Original Strength is all about moving the body using a variety of different fundamental movement patterns, working your left and right brain, and opening up your hips and shoulders. .
Expect to do many ground based movements including breathing exercises, cross crawling, marching, and working in many different movement planes.
There is no weight training involved, but your body will thank you for the movement with improved mobility, reduced aches and pains, and a greater sense of well-being.
This training can be used to get you back into the swing of working out or as a recovery day. We generally recommend incorporating it into a comprehensive resistance training schedule, which may include our other programs or workouts you perform on your own.
COncept 2 Rowing
The rower is one of the best tools to build a foundation of cardiovascular conditioning.
All group fitness class memberships include open access to the gym during all our operational hours! You don’t have to pay for an other gym membership to come in and lift on your own or do cardio. Just come on in and use the facility to get some extra work in all for the prices below.
